3D Printing

Now that that project at work is finished, and works, on to the next thing:

For the final paper for the class, I will be looking at 3D printing. I spent a little too much time looking at shapeways.com and thingiverse.com because they were so neat.

3D printer

I had a co-worker mention the hobby appeal of 3D printing a few months ago, but did not think about it again until this class. I probably will not have the chance to get to use a 3D printer any time soon, and certainly not before Friday. I cannot believe that this class has gone by so quickly.

Thanks for reading, and hope everyone has a good rest of the summer. I will be finishing my capstone, just in time to hopefully get a job at an academic library with the start of the fall semester.

No Arduino

I was hoping to get to that Arduino project at work. Unfortunately we will not get to it this week. Probably not this month. I have, however, been using my information management skills to create a "Master Machine." Basically I am doing what a good electrical engineer should have done years ago.

Wire Guy

I have come up with (almost) every possible combination of features we use, and put them in one box. Each component has its own label, and nothing else will every use that label. If we don't need something its not in the box, but if it needs to be added later, we can add it and it not mess up the schematic (big ISO issue). So it has been a project, and a fun one. Now to plug it in and see if it works...
